The main source of fuel for your brain is, you guessed it carbs. Be careful when it comes to low carb and restricted carb diets, they might actually affect your memory.

What to do instead: Eat a well balanced diet which includes carbs, protein, and fat. Man can not live on carbs alone. The main purpose of carbs is to provide the body with energy. But just eating carbs and not getting enough protein and fat will not cut it. A great time to eat carbs is after a workout to help your body to replenish lost nutrients.
